Legacies and Legends

2012 Editor's Notes

Callie McEvoy and Dino Cambanos

Under the direction of Mrs Tasha Botha and Dee Davis, the newspaper has been reconstructed this year. It is our goal to showcase the many talents of our budding journalists.

Our theme this issue is Legacies and Legends. A legacy  is  a thing handed down by a predecessor and a legend is a famous or remarkable event or person.

Mother Theresa said: ‘ Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.’

Steve Jobs said: ‘ Be a yardstick for quality. Some people aren’t used to an environment where excellence is expected.’  Two great legends, two great quotes.

You may not be a Mother Theresa or Steve Jobs,  but challenges we face daily can reshape our lives in a very positive way and create bright futures for each one  of us.

Hold your heads up high and as Mr Short encourages us each and every day: ‘Release the Champ!’

Dino and Callie would like to thank all the contributors to this edition of the St Petrian.  Well done to all of you  who have bravely shared your voices and opinions.
